Kiesha was not expected to live past four months of age, and if she did she would not be able to speak, sit, or walk. At the age of 5 months Kiesha under went surgery to have 2 cornea transplants to help her vision. She lost vision in the right eye but could see some out of left eye. Kiesha endured many surgery's over her life time. Kiesha was a very happy go lucky little girl, always full of smiles and giggles.
We are fundraising in memory of our daughter Kiesha who
stayed at the Ronald MacDonald House for most of her 18 years of life., Kiesha was born
with numerous disabilities and challenges and was in and out of MacMaster
Children's Hospital all her life. Kiesha lived 18 and a half years, She passed
away Christmas morning 2023. The organization has graciously agreed to name a
room after Kiesha at the Hamilton house.
Our goal: is to raise as much money to offset the costs for other families with
sick children. RMHC SCO only charges $12 a day for families to be able to be
near their sick child and provides them a place to stay, nutritious meals, and
laundry.
Did you know?
• McDonalds, albeit the namesake, is responsible for only 30% of the annual
operating costs to run the House and its hospital family rooms.
• There are 39 rooms at the Hamilton House and Niagara is the largest region
that uses its services. Approximately half of the annual stays at the House
come from Niagara!
• The average length of stay at the House is 16 nights. Without RMHC SCO, a
family who stayed 17 days could incur up to $9,300 in out-of-pocket expenses to
be by the side of their sick child. Annually RMHC SCO saves families 4M (RBC
Economic Impact Study, 2023)
We realize times are tough so whatever you can afford will be much appreciated.
Remember, if we all share this to ALL our social media platforms $10/person
will be able to pay for a room at the Hamilton Ronald McDonald House for many
years to come!
Please donate to Kiesha's Crusade and help us support the House and support this amazing cause.
